Discomfort is minimal as a fine needle is used. Some clients may experience a slight stinging sensation, but it’s generally well-tolerated.

There’s typically little to no downtime after wrinkle reduction injections. While some may experience minor redness or swelling, these effects usually resolve quickly. Keeping in mind there is a risk of bruising, it is best to schedule your appointments around important events and work commitments.

If you choose to cease wrinkle reduction injections, your facial muscles will gradually resume their normal function. There are no negative effects on your muscles, and your appearance will gradually return to its state before treatment.

It’s best to book your appointment at least 4 weeks before an event to allow time for potential touch ups at 2 weeks. We normally recommend treatment 4-6 weeks before a special event e.g. a wedding. 

If you’re new to injectables we also recommend trying wrinkle reduction injections once before your special event and then again right before i.e. 1st treatment 5 months before and then 2nd treatment 4 weeks before the event. 

Injection site redness: Mild redness around the injection sites is a common and temporary side effect. It typically subsides within a few hours or days.

Swelling: Some degree of swelling may occur at the injection sites. This swelling is usually mild and localised, resolving within a few hours to a few days.

Bruising: Bruising can occur at the injection sites, especially if you are prone to bruising. The severity and duration of bruising vary from person to person but typically resolve within a few days to a couple of weeks.

Tenderness or discomfort: You may experience mild tenderness or discomfort at the injection sites. This sensation is generally temporary and should resolve within a few days.

Headache: In some cases, a mild headache may occur after receiving botulinum toxin injections. This headache typically subsides within a few hours or days and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers if necessary.

Flu-like symptoms: Some individuals may experience flu-like symptoms such as fatigue, mild fever, or muscle weakness after botulinum toxin injections. These symptoms are usually temporary and resolve within a short period.

Drooping or asymmetry (rare): In rare cases, the injected botulinum toxin may spread to unintended areas and cause temporary muscle weakness, resulting in drooping eyelids or asymmetry of facial features. These effects are typically temporary and resolve within weeks to a couple of months as the botulinum toxin wears off.

Recent vaccination: please wait two weeks before and after receiving any vaccinations for wrinkle reduction treatment.

Bleeding disorders: Those with bleeding disorders or on blood-thinning medications may have an increased risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Unmanaged/undiagnosed mental health illnesses including but not limited to body dysmorphia.
